Miramonte shuts out Pinole Valley 59-0 to stay undefeated

The Matadors breezed to a victory over the defending 7-AA state champions, with a running clock in effect for the entire second half. Coach Jack Schram said he had four running backs score. Senior Gabe Roman punched in two touchdowns, and juniors Luke Milmoe and Armin Emadi each had one touchdown. Sophomore Charlie Hwang also scored a touchdown in a game in which the Matadors had a punt return for a touchdown. Schram said he played three quarterbacks. Miramonte (3-0) starts league play next week with a home game against Northgate, and Pinole Valley (1-3) will enjoy a bye week before playing host to Ygnacio Valley on Sept. 29.
