#5 Acalanes Women's Basketball Defeats #17 Miramonte to Win DAL Championship

The only thing on Dulci Vail's mind coming into Saturday's Diablo Athletic League championship game was a win. 

"It didn't matter if it was the league championship or state championship, I came in ready to play," she said. 

Her mindset to win showed early as she scored 25 of her 36 points in the first half en route to a big win over Miramonte to capture the DAL tournament championship.

Ariana Hallstrom added 16 points and Karyss Lacanlale chipped in 10.

The Matadors kept it close with Acalanes to start, trailing by only four after the first quarter. But a 19-3 run in the second quarter blew the game open for the Dons. 

Acalanes outscored Miramonte 39-22 in the second half as it cruised to a league title. 

Karena Eberts led Miramonte with 14 points in the loss. 

"Our whole mindset going forward is to play every game like it's a championship game," Vail said.
