My name is Doug Senz. I am an Orinda native, a Miramonte graduate, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Pomona College and a longtime Miramonte coach. I was a water polo player, swimmer and tennis player both in high school and in college. I have coached water polo, swimming/diving, tennis, basketball, and now golf, for both girls and boys for over forty years at Miramonte.
I got into golf as a result of following my now college-age son around junior golf tournaments and high school golf matches for 10 years. I am currently the Head Women's Golf Coach. In 2021, the Lady Matadors won the Diablo Athletic League title as well as the North Coast Section Division 2 Team Championship. In 2022, a five-member Lady Matador team repeated as DAL champions and finished third at the NCS D2 Tournament. Both teams were made up of individuals of the highest character and possessed a wonderful and not-soon-to-be-forgotten camaraderie.
I feel so fortunate to have been surrounded by great administrators/teachers/coaches both at Miramonte and at other schools in the area dating back to when I was a student at Miramonte and continuing to this day. The wealth of experience and knowledge that all of these mentors have passed on to me has made coaching a wonderful and enjoyable profession and it has kept me young!
