Coach Ed returns for his second year as head coach of Mats JV Boys Basketball. Ed is from Salinas and played basketball at North Salinas High and Sacramento State University. Prior to joining the Matador basketball program, Ed was a referee and coach of CYO basketball in Lafayette for 14 years, a high school basketball referee locally for six years, and a head coach of boys basketball at the Frosh and JV levels for over 13 years at Acalanes, Northgate, Berkeley, and Las Lomas. The game gets faster at each progressive level and Coach Ed gets immense satisfaction from seeing his Mats underclassmen gain confidence and proficiency in hard-nosed, up-tempo basketball.
