Mats Mens Basketball Falls to Top Seed Clayton Valley Charter

The Miramonte Mens basketball team hosted the Clayton Valley Ugly Eagles in a pivotal league match up Wednesday night at the Matadome. Clayton Valley sits atop the Diablo Athletic League (DAL) with a 4-0 record in league and 13-5 overall. Miramonte  stands in the middle of the pack in the DAL with a 3-2 record in league and 13-5 overall record as well. Clayton Valley was without their top leading scorers for this game, Elijah Perryman '25 and James Moore '25. Miramonte Junior Jack Quinnild striped a corner three to open the scoring for the night. Miramonte jumped out to an early 10-8 lead, but the Ugly Eagles responded with a 13-0 run and entered halftime with a comfortable 31-20 lead. Clayton Valley never looked back and led by as much as 21 in the second half. Sophomore guard Chase Robertson '26 chipped in 19 point and led the scoring for the Eagles. Clayton Valley stayed atop the DAL standings while Miramonte fell to 13-6.
