#9 Ygnacio Valley Men's Basketball Defeats Miramonte 79-45

No. 9 Ygnacio Valley 79, Miramonte 45

Ygnacio Valley, seeded No. 1 in the Diablo Athletic League tournament after finishing atop the regular-season standings, had no letdown in its opening game Tuesday night.

Instead, it was dominated by Antonio Kellogg Jr. and Co.

Playing at home, the Warriors led Miramonte 25-8 after the first quarter and 47-18 at halftime on their way to a spot in the semifinals Thursday night at home against Benicia.

Kellogg finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals as Ygnacio Valley improved to 21-6.

The Warriors also got 11 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and six steals from Jalan Cody.

Jack Quinnild had 12 points – all on 3-pointers – and Marcus Robinson chipped in with 10 points for Miramonte, which fell to 17-11.

Ygnacio Valley finished 11-1 during the DAL's regular season. Its only loss was last week at home to Benicia, 66-56.
