Lane Dalton has been nominated for the Bay Area News Group Boys Athlete of the Week award. A JV call-up thrust into the starting role due to a slew of injuries, Lane has performed at an elite level while leading the Mats to the Division IV NCS title and a spot in the Division 5-A NorCal Championship.

Lane's nomination was announced on the heels of his performance versus Hayward High School in the NCS Championship. He completed 16-of-22 passes while throwing for 246 passing yards and scoring 2 rushing touchdowns. Lane looks to continue his stellar play against Calaveras High School on Saturday as the Mats compete for a spot in the Division 5-A State Championship Game.
