Sideline Cheer Coach (Fall & Winter Seasons)

Location: Miramonte High school
Position Type: Part-time, Seasonal (Fall & Winter)

Job Summary:

Miramonte High School is seeking a dedicated and energetic Sideline Cheer Coach for the fall and winter sports seasons. This position is responsible for leading and developing the cheer program, promoting school spirit, and supporting student-athletes both on and off the field/court. The coach will work with student-athletes to improve skills, technique, and teamwork while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead practices to develop cheer routines, sideline chants, and crowd engagement strategies.
• Attend all football games (home and away, as required).
• Attend all home league basketball games both Men's and Women's
• Supervise and ensure the safety of athletes during practices, games, and events.
• Teach proper cheerleading techniques, including motions, jumps, stunts, and tumbling (if applicable).
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive team culture.
• Coordinate with athletic department staff, school administration, and other coaches.
• Organize team participation in pep rallies, school events, and community outreach.
• Ensure compliance with all school, league, and state regulations regarding cheerleading and student-athlete eligibility.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff.

Qualifications:

• Previous cheerleading coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, safety protocols, and performance strategies.
• Ability to work with athletes of varying skill levels.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must pass background check and meet all district/state coaching requirements.
