Drew Holland has been named the Co-Head Men's Water Polo Coach at Miramonte High School.

A Miramonte graduate in the class of 2013, Holland returns to his alma mater to lead the next generation of Matador student-athletes. During his career at Miramonte, Holland led the team to back-to-back DFAL titles from 2011-12 in addition to a trio of NCS championships in 2009, 2011, and 2012. Holland received a multitude of individual honors, most notably DFAL Most Outstanding Goalie in 2012.

Upon graduation, Holland continued his dominance in the pool at Stanford University, where he holds the school record for most career saves. Representing the United States National Team, he participated in both the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympic Games, taking home a bronze medal in Paris and continuing Miramonte's tradition of Olympic-level excellence.

"It's very special to return to a program that did so much for me," said Drew Holland. "Great coaches like James Lathrop, Bill Brown and others helped prepare me to have success while at Stanford, playing professionally overseas, and with the Olympic Team.  It's an honor to help pass that down to the next generation."

"Drew embodies the dedication, excellence, and pride we strive to instill in all our student-athletes," said Principal Ben Campopiano. "Bringing an alum of his caliber back to Miramonte to coach, mentor and inspire the next generation is incredibly special for our student-athletes and school community."

As part of a reshaped coaching staff, Holland will share head coaching duties with fellow alum and veteran Miramonte water polo coach, Lincoln Haley ('08). Previous Co-Head Coach, John Nash ('09), will remain a vital part of the program by stepping into an assistant coaching role.

"Having Drew back is a huge win for Miramonte Water Polo," said Athletic Director Sean Hennessy. "His Olympic and collegiate experience, combined with his deep ties to our community, will help push our program to even greater heights."

Building off a strong 2024 campaign capped by a top-15 national ranking according to Maxpreps, Miramonte Water Polo has its sights set on continued dominance at the DFAL and NCS level in 2025.
