Lady Mats Volleyball Dominates Against Vintage, Earns Spot in NCS Semifinal

Fueled by the passion of supporters and coaches alike, Miramonte Women's Volleyball defeated Vintage High 3-1 last Saturday to secure a spot in the NCS Semifinal.

After splitting the first two sets, the Lady Mats won the final two sets decisively thanks in part to the strategy, inspiration, and energy provided by Coach Leslie Ray.

"My energy was on a high level as always, just making sure that the girls are a reflection of me," said Coach Leslie. "If my energy is down, their energy is down, so I have to make sure I maintain high energy the whole time."

But Coach Leslie Ray wasn't the only one lifting up the Lady Mats throughout the match. Matador fans, family, and friends packed the bleachers at Vintage High, creating a home court experience for their squad that boosted Miramonte in the back part of the match.

"The parents gave us energy and cheer. I love it when we have our crowd engaged," said Coach Leslie. "It's always a blessing because their energy is a reflection of what we have on the court and the girls feed off of it.".

The Lady Mats hope to receive the same support as they travel to Brentwood this Wednesday (11/5) to keep their postseason hopes alive against the 2-seed Heritage Patriots. This is Miramonte's deepest NCS run since 2021, and the entire Mats community is confident that this squad has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Miramonte High School extends its congratulations to the Women's Volleyball team and looks forward to watching them take the court this Wednesday!
