Miramonte students have been out of class since mid-December, but Mats Athletics showed no signs of slowing down during the winter break. See below for a recap of how winter sports faired  over the holidays!

Men's Basketball
The Mats are 6-1 over their last 7 games, including an important DAL victory over Alhambra. That stretch was highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the competitive Windsor Holiday Tournament thanks to a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Jayden Vasisht against Windsor. Next up, Men's Basketball will take on Campolindo AT HOME this Thursday (1/8) at 7:30 PM.

Women's Basketball
In her first year as head coach, Ace Wright led the Women's Basketball team to two massive victories over Alhambra and Granada, winning by a combined 110 points. The latter came in the first day of the SI20 Showcase, an elite basketball tournament hosted by Miramonte legend Sabrina Ionescu. Despite a tough loss against Dublin, the Mats are ascending and are prepared to travel to San Anselmo tonight to take on Archie Williams at 6:00 PM.

Wrestling
Wrestling was relentless throughout the break, competing in six different meets across all levels, both men's and women's. Jaxon Ziehn took home 3rd place at the Bill Martell Invitational, while Finnegan Hura did the same at the Lou Bronzan Invitational. Most notably, Ashley Silverman claimed 1st place at Concord High's Contest of Champions!
