Miramonte Softball Wins 12th Game of the Year, Sets Record for Most Wins in a Season With Four Games Left to PlayÂ

With the win against Mt. Diablo High School by a score of 11-1 on Thursday, April 25th, the Miramonte softball team reached 12 wins, the most wins in program history. It was a celebratory afternoon with the win and recognition of the two seniors, Antonia Lawrence and Madilyn Roesnor.The Mats got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Gianna Granzella had a lead-off single to center field and Abby Warren drove it up the middle to score Granzella. They added to their early lead in the bottom of the third after Julia Quinn-Ferguson walked, Antonia Lawrence reached on a fielders choice and Penelope Hagan singled, each scoring one run. Warren earned the win for the Mats, surrendering two hits  over five innings, striking out seven and walking two.Â
The Mats were active at the plate throughout the game with 12 hits. Abby Warren collected four hits in four at-bats with a triple and three singles and Talia Kardon and Granzella collected multiple hits for the Mats, including a game-ending triple for Kardon. Lawrence had three runs batted in and Granzella was aggressive on the bases with three stolen bases.Â
