KEN DORSEY, '99
Ken Dorsey earned two varsity letters each in football and basketball at Miramonte. In football, he was named All-East Bay in 1997 and 1998, Examiner All-Metro in 1997 and 1998, and Cal-Hi All-State in 1998. As a quarterback, he led the Matadors football team to back-to-back NCS titles, passing for 4,968 yards and 52 TDs over two seasons. As a senior, he averaged 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals per game for the basketball team. Ken went on to play football at the University of Miami, where he was named Big East Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002. He was MVP of the Sugar Bowl in 2001 and Rose Bowl in 2002. In 2001, Ken won the Maxwell Award, presented to college football's most outstanding player. After being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers, Ken spent six seasons in the NFL with the 49ers and Cleveland Browns. He finished his pro career with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in 2010.
