LUKE SASSANO, '04
Luke Sassano began his career at Lamorinda Soccer Club. He was a four-time all-league selection, league MVP his senior year at Miramonte and made the Contra Costa Times Top 100 in both football and soccer. He played college soccer at the University of California, Berkeley where he was selected First Team All Pac-10 and was named team captain in 2007. During his college years Sassano also played for the San Francisco Seals and San Jose Frogs of the United Soccer League (USL) Premier Development League. He was selected in the second round of 2008 Major League Soccer (MLS) Super Draft by the New York Red Bulls as their first pick. He played four years of MLS with both the Red Bulls and Sporting KC before injuries forced his retirement in 2012.
