LYNNE ABBES ROLLEY, '67
Lynne Abbes Rolley was ranked as one of the top 10 women's tennis players in the United States. She held numerous state and national titles as the #1 ranked junior player in the 1960s. She now has over 50 years of teaching and coaching expertise at every level. She was the first woman to coach a men’s college team (St. Mary’s College). Rolley has coached a myriad of top players, including Lindsay Davenport, Jennifer Capriati, Chanda Rubin, and the Williams sisters. She has been the Director of Women’s Tennis for the United States Tennis Association and coached the US National Team at the Federation Cup and Pan-Am Games. She was the Director of Tennis at Berkeley Tennis Club and Moraga Country Club. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Tennis at La Quinta Resort x PGA West and is now the Director of Tennis at Meadow Swim and Tennis Club in Orinda, CA. Rolley was a 2008 inductee into the Northern California Tennis Hall of Fame.
