MARILYN DAVIS, '82
Marilyn Davis dominated high school middle distance running in the early 1980s. She was the 1980 NCS and State champion at 800 meters; in 1981 she was the NCS champion at 1600 meters and took third in the state meet. She followed that up by winning the 5000 meter race at both the Kinney and Footlocker Western Regionals. She still holds Miramonte records in the 400, 800 and 1600. Davis went on to the University of California at Berkeley. In 1986 she set the 3000 meter school record that lasted until 2010 and is still the sixth best time in school history. Davis also achieved All-American status in Cross-Country while at Berkeley. A year after her graduation, she qualified for the 1988 Olympic Track and Field Trials in the 3000 meters; unfortunately, she got injured and was unable to compete.
