TOM BLACKWOOD (1965-2003)
Tom Blackwood was a teacher and basketball coach at Miramonte for 38 years from 1965 to 2003. He also coached football for 20 years and tennis for five years. Tom retired in 2004 as the eighth winningest basketball coach in California state history with a win-loss record of 636-337. He coached teams to seven league titles and an NCS championship in 1998. Tom was named NCS CIF Honor Coach in 1995 and the Cal Hi state Coach of the Year in 2002. In 2001 he won the Bisio Teacher of the Year award at Miramonte. Also, he was inducted into the Menlo-Atherton High School Sports Hall of Fame as a Multi-Sport athlete (Football, Basketball and Track).
