PETER SCHNUGG, '69
Peter Schnugg swam and played water polo and basketball at Miramonte. In 1969, he was NCS champion in the 200 IM and 100 Free for swimming. In water polo, Peter was first-team All-League as a junior. In his senior year, he was again first-team All-League, was named the Foothill Athletic League Player of the Year, and made fourth-team All-American. Peter played three years of varsity basketball, making second-team All-League and serving as co-captain during his senior year. He went on to swim and play water polo at UC-Berkeley. In 1973, he was the Pac-8 Conference champion in the 100 Free. In water polo, Peter earned All-American honors in 1972 and 1973. He was named NCAA Player of the Year in 1973. After his career at Cal, Peter continued playing water polo in the 1975 Pan-American Games and on the US National Team from 1976-1980. He was a member of the US Olympic Team when the US boycotted the Moscow Olympic Games of 1980.
